Ultrafast Analysis of Food Preservatives Using Dual-Needle Injection
January 11th 2016Ultrahigh throughput is shown for ultrafast gradients with over 60 % reduction of total analysis time using alternating column regeneration. This was accomplished with parallel injection by the second needle installed in the Agilent 1290 Infinity II Multisampler, which has a dual-needle option for the analysis of food preservatives.

Impurity Testing of Fixed-Dose Combination Drugs
January 11th 2016The Agilent 1290 Infinity II High Dynamic Range Diode Array Detection Impurity Analyzer Solution combines the signals from two diode array detectors with different path length Max-Light cartridge cells to increase the linear dynamic UV-range. This solution can be used to detect and quantify main and trace compounds in a single run without exceeding the linear UV-range.
Agilent 1290 Infinity II Multi‑Method Solution
January 11th 2016This Application Note describes the use of the Agilent 1290 Infinity II LC for the automated operation of seven different applications using different methods in food analysis. The exchange of columns is controlled by the method used. All columns are located in a single Agilent 1290 Infinity II Multicolumn Thermostat. Accordingly, the Agilent 1290 Infinity II Flexible Pump is attached to two external solvent-selection valves for automated solvent switching.
Fixed–Dose Combination Drug Analysis by ELSD
January 11th 2016Evaporative light scattering (ELS) is a unique and highly sensitive technique for detection of semivolatile and nonvolatile solutes in a liquid stream. As a consequence of the physics of light scattering, conventional ELS detectors have a relatively small dynamic range. In contrast, the Agilent 1290 Infinity II Evaporative Light Scattering Detector has a 10-times higher dynamic range compared to conventional ELS detectors.

Quantification of Purine Alkaloids and Catechins in Green and Black Tea Using Comprehensive 2D-LC
December 1st 2015Comprehensive 2D-LC enables the analysis and quantification of purine alkaloids and catechins in green and black tea. As expected, green tea contained higher amounts of the catechins epigallocatechin gallate and epicatechin than black tea.
Increased Resolution and Reproducibility with TSKgel® UP-SW3000 Columns Versus a Competitive Column
December 1st 2015TSKgel UP-SW3000 columns are 2 µm SEC columns designed for the analysis of monoclonal antibodies and other biopharma products. Higher resolution can be achieved for the separation of antibody monomers, dimers, and higher order aggregates with a TSKgel UP-SW3000 column compared to a competitor UHPLC column. The TSKgel UP-SW3000 column provided excellent reproducibility for the peak parameters of retention time, asymmetry, and column efficiency. As demonstrated by the %RSD values, injection-to-injection reproducibility was superior to the competitor column.

New Method for Sampling and Analysis of Electronic Cigarette Aerosols
December 1st 2015Following sampling, tubes were transferred to a Markes UNITY™ thermal desorption system paired with an Agilent 7890B GC that was coupled to an Agilent 5977A MS detector. The UNITY™ system and GC–MS parameters are presented in Table I and Table II, respectively.
The US EPA has implemented an exposure research program aimed at conducting drinking water research on methods as part of the Microbiological and Chemical Exposure Assessment. This research is aimed at evaluating the chemical pollutants and their role and levels in which there is an unacceptable risk to either humans or wildlife, as well as evaluating the methodologies currently being used to determine levels of chemical pollutants.
Mycotoxin testing awareness has increased as countries involved in world trade of raw agriculture and processed consumer products rely on a safe global food supply
