The financial reports for Agilent Technologies’ first quarter of 2009 have identified trends in the demand for product platforms.
Breaking the report down by platform showed both gas and liquid chromatography systems have performed weaker than last year, while both microarrays and LC–MS grew by double digits.
Additionally, although the company reports the revenues of the company’s bio-analytical segment are down on last year’s, life science sales to academic and government markets are up dramatically, owing to particular strength in microassays and LC–MS systems shown by this sector. The food safety market also performed well.

Using LC-MS/MS to Measure Testosterone in Dried Blood Spots
December 19th 2024Testosterone measurements are typically performed using serum or plasma, but this presents several logistical challenges, especially for sample collection, storage, and transport. In a recently published article, Yehudah Gruenstein of the University of Miami explored key insights gained from dried blood spot assay validation for testosterone measurement.
