Here is a brief description of today’s session that includes an award nominee.

The Csaba Horváth award was created to honor its namesake and recognize his contributions to high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), including his interest in fostering the careers of young scientists in separation science and engineering. The award is a cash grant and a trophy engraved with the winner’s name. The winner is also invited to give an oral presentation at HPLC 2013. There are 10 nominees this year, each giving presentations throughout the duration of the conference. The Csaba Horváth award will be presented on Thursday. Here is a brief description of today’s session that includes an award nominee.

In the afternoon session titled “Downstream Processing and Analytics in Biotech”, Csaba Horváth young scientist award nominee Jennifer Rea of Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, in South San Francisco, California will present a paper, “Capillary Size Exclusion Chromatography with Picogram Sensitivity for Analysis of Monoclonal Antibodies Purified from Biological Matrices.” The session will be chaired by Steven Cohen of Waters Corporation and Peter Satzer of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences. Rea’s presentation is scheduled from 5:15–5:35 p.m.
