Pittcon’s networking sessions cover a range of techniques and topics. We had two afternoon networking sessions, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm, to recommend. One addressed the impact of automation and AI in the pharmaceutical R&D laboratory (room 202A). The other offered a forum to address the exchange of safety information concerning extractables and leachables (room 203A).
The session on extractables and leachables was hosted by James Vergis of the Enabling Technologies Consortium and Lee Nagao of Faegre Drinker Biddle and Reath, LLP. This forum will bring together analytical technology providers and industry members to discuss the current extractables and leachables landscape and collaboration opportunities. Topics that were discussed included regulatory guidance, data sharing, and leachables risk management.
The forum on automation and AI in the pharmaceutical industry was hosted by Michael Wleklinski of Merck. The group addressed how automation and new developments in artificial intelligence can efficiently impact drug candidate progression by using experimental data. Part of this session also addressed adopting artificial intelligence technologies into the laboratory, and what challenges and successes attendees have had in doing so.
