Robin MacGeachy, the Managing Director of Peak Scientific in Inchinnan, Scotland, has been awarded the Ernst and Young UK Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Manufacturing 2014.
The programme is held in more than 145 cities and 60 countries worldwide and is open to business leaders in a range of different sectors. Robin MacGeachy told The Column: “It was a wonderful surprise to receive this prestigious award. Although it was for ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ it would simply not have been possible without all the hard work of the 300+ people now employed by Peak Scientific across the globe. On‑demand gas generation has now become an accepted, mainstream product within laboratories throughout the world. It took patience and perseverance for this to be realized, but more and more laboratories are now making the switch away from traditional cylinders and bulk storage — which is having a positive impact on safety, productivity, and profitability of labs as well as lowering their carbon footprint.”
