EuroAnalysis XIV
Antwerp, Belgium
EuroAnalysis has established itself as the central forum for discussion and presentation of activities for analytical chemistry in Europe.
The fourteenth EuroAnalysis is being held from 9–14 September. It is organized by the European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences, Division of Analytical Chemistry (EuCheMS–DAC), the Centre for Micro and Trace Analysis (MiTAC) of the University of Antwerp and the Flemish Chemical Society (KVCV), in collaboration with the Joint Research Centre — Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM) of the European Commission.
Since the first edition of the conference was held in Heidelberg, Germany, 1972, EuroAnalysis has established itself as the central forum for discussion and presentation of up-to-date activities from across Europe in analytical chemistry. The emphasis of the fourteenth edition of EuroAnalysis will be placed on the essential role Analytical Chemistry plays in the preservation of mankind's natural and cultural environment.
The organizers hope to provide a stimulating scientific conference that allows attendees to get up-to-date on the latest developments in all branches of analytical chemistry by the formal and informal exchange of results and experiences.
To reinforce education on analytical sciences and to promote the participation of young scientists in the meeting, a number of half-day short courses will be organized in the weekend prior to the scientific conference itself. Participants to the courses will receive an official certificate.

Chromeleon International Users Symposium
Basel, Switzerland
Dionex Corporation will host its second Chromeleon International Users Symposium in October 2007. CIUS2007 takes place from 22–24 October in Basel, Switzerland, and will bring together a diverse set of Chromeleon users from across the globe. It will provide an opportunity for attendees to discuss their chromatography management experience, sharpen their Chromeleon skills and increase their functional knowledge about the software.
"Our first symposium was held in October 2005 and was a major success," said Dr Peter Jochum, Dionex vice-president of the Life Sciences Business Unit. He added, "More than 130 people attended and stated that they were looking forward to a similar event in the future. We have responded to this request and are looking forward to hosting our new event in October of this year."
The symposium will include a series of workshops, user presentations and posters, and presentations from Dionex experts.

AI and GenAI Applications to Help Optimize Purification and Yield of Antibodies From Plasma
October 31st 2024Deriving antibodies from plasma products involves several steps, typically starting from the collection of plasma and ending with the purification of the desired antibodies. These are: plasma collection; plasma pooling; fractionation; antibody purification; concentration and formulation; quality control; and packaging and storage. This process results in a purified antibody product that can be used for therapeutic purposes, diagnostic tests, or research. Each step is critical to ensure the safety, efficacy, and quality of the final product. Applications of AI/GenAI in many of these steps can significantly help in the optimization of purification and yield of the desired antibodies. Some specific use-cases are: selecting and optimizing plasma units for optimized plasma pooling; GenAI solution for enterprise search on internal knowledge portal; analysing and optimizing production batch profitability, inventory, yields; monitoring production batch key performance indicators for outlier identification; monitoring production equipment to predict maintenance events; and reducing quality control laboratory testing turnaround time.
