Waters Corporation (Massachusetts, USA) has acquired the UK-based company Nonlinear Dynamics Ltd (Newcastle upon Tyne, UK). The acquisition marks the goal of Waters to advance the rate of discovery in proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics.
Nonlinear Dynamics is known as a developer of proteomics and metabolomics analysis software. The two companies began collaborating two years ago to develop new informatics software products. According to an announcement by Duncan Barrie, General Manager, Nonlinear Dynamics, the acquisition will not affect the operation in Newcastle upon Tyne, and there will be no interruption in service.
“The opportunity to combine Nonlinear Dynamics informatics expertise with Waters worldwide leadership in chromatography and mass spectrometry will continue to create significant benefits for omics-focused scientists and laboratories,” said Rohit Khanna, Vice President of Informatics and Worldwide Marketing for the Waters Division. “Proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics hold vast potential for understanding the mechanisms of diseases, the development of innovative therapeutics, and discovering biomarkers for translational research.”
