Agilent has announced the opening of a new customer applications and training centre in South Korea. The company state that their goal is to collaborate with customers to develop new applications and methodologies for environmental, agricultural and semi-conductor research industries.

The centre will be available to train chemists and engineers in the South Asia and Pacific region on the use of spectroscopy and mass-spectrometry instruments and technologies, as well as containing a clean room for materials testing. The Class1000-certified clean room will be maintained to reduce environmental pollutants. The certification refers to the specification that no more than 1000 particles per cubic foot may be present at a given time.

Dr Chai-Hock Teng, vice president and general manager of Agilent’s Chemical Analysis Group in South Korea and South Asia Pacific region, commented: “The country is home to some of the world’s top electronics manufacturers, major Asian and international pharmaceutical and chemical firms as well as other industrial giants.
