Overcoming Challenges with Aging Instrumentation with Heather Rennie
July 22nd 2021Lab scientists are constantly faced with challenges caused by aging technology including longer run times, expensive repairs and less sensitivity of their samples. As instruments approach end of life, accessing trained professionals to repair older technology also becomes more difficult and costly. In this podcast, Heather Rennie, Senior Manager, Global Services, from Waters Corporation will discuss the benefits of protecting instrumentation by including a service coverage support package at the time of purchase.

SEC-MALS as a Platform and Release Assay for AAV Development and Production
April 7th 2021As one of the most promising in-vivo gene delivery vectors, adeno-associated virus (AAV) has been widely used in various gene therapy products. In order to ensure the safety and efficacy of these AAV-based gene therapy products, it is crucial to understand and measure their critical quality attributes (CQAs) throughout the development cycle. In this podcast, we will discuss how to apply a well-established bio-therapeutics characterization tool, SEC-MALS (size-exclusion chromatography combined with multi-angle light scattering and other online concentration detectors), for quantifying AAV CQAs. This SEC-MALS method has been recognized and demonstrated as a robust, sensitive, and automated assay for AAV development platform and production release testing.
Instrument Utilization with Jim Sweeney
February 24th 2021There is an increasing focus on capturing utilization data from instruments to improve overall lab operations. Utilization data without context such as service history, instrument information and maintenance strategy has limited value. Contextualizing utilization data improves quality of the business decisions relating to the asset lifecycle.
