Analysis of Active Cannabis Compounds in Edible Food Products: Gummy Bears and Brownies
June 1st 2019Potency testing in marijuana-infused edibles is a problematic task due to the complexity of the matrices. The concentration of active ingredients in edibles can range from a few ppm to 3.5% (1). In this application, active cannabinoid compounds were extracted from gummy bears (and also brownies, results not shown), followed by HPLC analysis.
Perchlorate Analysis by IC: Water Impact
August 16th 2016Continuing MilliporeSigma’s series of podcasts on the impact of water quality on chromatography techniques, Joe Plurad discusses the practical effects of ultrapure water in a specific area of analysis: The importance of water quality on perchlorate analysis by ion chromatography (IC).
Hormone Analysis by LC-MS and Water Impact
April 14th 2016The increased use of hormone-based therapies in health care throughout the world has resulted in hormones finding their way into municipal water supplies. The potential health risks of unintended consumption of hormones through drinking water have significantly increased the interest in identifying these compounds in our water supplies. The Milli-Q system incorporates a combination of purification processes that provides ultrapure, hormone-free lab water for the LC–MS techniques used for interference-free analysis of these contaminants.
