Waters has won the 2012 Pittcon Editors’ Gold Award for its Acquity UPC2 system. The award recognizes the best new product at the conference.
The Acquity UPC2 system is said to expand the boundaries of reversed-phase liquid and gas chromatography and offers a replacement option for normal-phase chromatography.
Art Caputo, president of the Waters division, commented, “On behalf of all Waters employees worldwide, we thank the Pittcon Editors for recognizing the Acquity UPC2 system and its promise as a new category of separation science. In 2004, the Pittcon Editors selected the Acquity ultra performance LC (UPLC) to receive the gold award for best in show. Since then, thousands of Acquity UPLC systems have been adopted by leading laboratories around the world changing the landscape and impact of chromatography. We believe that Acquity ultra performance convergence chromatography holds that same potential by bridging the gap between LC and GC technologies.”

Using LC-MS/MS to Measure Testosterone in Dried Blood Spots
December 19th 2024Testosterone measurements are typically performed using serum or plasma, but this presents several logistical challenges, especially for sample collection, storage, and transport. In a recently published article, Yehudah Gruenstein of the University of Miami explored key insights gained from dried blood spot assay validation for testosterone measurement.
