Quintiles (North Carolina, USA) has announced the formation of an exclusive partnership with BioCore Co., Ltd, (Seoul, South Korea) to extend the provision of bioanalytical services in Asia.
The collection of high-quality bioanalytical data is important early on in drug development as this assists scientists making the key decisions determining the progress of a candidate drug to later, more expensive development stages.
BioCore will provide services exclusively to Quintiles for a two-year period. As the largest provider of bioanalytical liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS–MS) services in South Korea, BioCore aims to further the provision of biopharmaceutical services in Asia Pacific.
According to Jenny Zhang, VP and general manager of Asia Laboratories, Quintiles, the partnership is part of Quintile’s plan to improve the capabilities of laboratories as required to enable the meeting of client’s needs locally, regionally and globally.
BioCore President and Chief Executive Officer Hyung Sik Choie said: “This partnership expands BioCore’s bioanalysis and bioequivalence studies beyond Korea to other Asian countries. Our vision is to become more global; this alliance advances our efforts to achieve that vision.”

Maximizing Cannabinoid Separation for Potency Testing with LC
April 7th 2025Researchers from the Department of Chemistry at Western Illinois University (Macomb, Illinois) conducted a study to optimize the separation of 18 cannabinoids for potency testing of hemp-based products, using liquid chromatography with a diode array detector (LC–DAD). As part of our monthlong series of articles pertaining to National Cannabis Awareness Month, LCGC International spoke to Liguo Song, the corresponding author of the paper stemming from this research, to discuss the study and its findings.
How Many Repetitions Do I Need? Caught Between Sound Statistics and Chromatographic Practice
April 7th 2025In chromatographic analysis, the number of repeated measurements is often limited due to time, cost, and sample availability constraints. It is therefore not uncommon for chromatographers to do a single measurement.
