PerkinElmer has announced that pharmaceutical research and manufacturing company, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma, is expanding its agreement with the company’s laboratory services provider. According to the services provider the expanded agreement now covers more than 1000 scientific assets from multiple vendors at the pharmaceutical company’s site in Ingelheim, Germany. Since 2005 the company has supported QC chemicals and, more recently, QC pharma departments and this latest expansion means a six-fold growth in the agreement over that time.
Hansueli Goeldi, European service leader, PerkinElmer, said, “OneSource Laboratory Services significantly reduced Boehringer Ingelheim’s service costs by removing the complexity of managing different manufacturers’ laboratory equipment. On-site engineers provide a cost-effective, consolidated approach to instrument maintenance and qualification through a single point of contact, in place of multiple service providers.”
The company’s teams offer scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services for laboratory equipment from a wide range of manufacturers, as well as continuous process improvements aiming to maximize output and profitability.
