PEAK Scientific, the world’s number one laboratory gas generator manufacturer (according to an independent survey carried out by MJH Life Sciences), has today announced that its’ best-selling Genius range of nitrogen gas generators for LC-MS are now the first laboratory nitrogen generators to be certified with an Accountability, Consistency and Transparency (ACT®) Ecolabel from My Green Lab®. With this certification, laboratories with an active Genius product canaccess independently verified environmental impact data, covering key sustainability metrics related to manufacturing, energy and water use, packaging, and end-of-life considerations.
The ACT Ecolabel was designed to address the need of both scientists and procurement specialists for consistent, clear, third-party verified information about the environmental impact of laboratory products.
This advancement has brought PEAK Scientific in line with many of the leading Mass Spectrometry and Gas Chromatograph instrument manufacturers who have adopted the ecolabels for their own products.
With a growing focus on sustainable practices within the analytical science sector and as an ethical supplier to analytical laboratories around the world, PEAK Scientific found it vital to provide its customers and industry partners the level of transparency the ACT Ecolabel program provides.
PEAK Scientific’s Group Commercial and Transformation Director, Michelle McGavin, said, “We are so proud to be able to announce ACT Ecolabel certification for our Genius products. It is a rigorous process and involving nearly every part of our organisation as well as My Green Lab and their third-party verifiers. That third party verification being extremely important in providing tangible credibility to the labels– t’s more than just our claims; it’s independently verified data.
Having recently undergone a carbon impact audit of our headquarters and manufacturing operation, the ACT Ecolabel is the next step in our ongoing efforts to improve the sustainability of our lab gas products. Ultimately, we’re hopeful this will drive further sustainable practices throughout the market and our wider supply chain.”
Only last year, PEAK Scientific launched “the most energy-efficient nitrogen generator on the market” and, with the introduction of the ACT Ecolabel, look to be continuing to push their design, manufacturing and operational practices towards a more sustainable outcome for all.
