Today at the HPLC 2016 conference, four free tutorial sessions are offered to HPLC conferees. Today’s talks, from Dave Bell, Fred Regnier, Jonathan Sweedler, and Paul Haddad, cover hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HILIC), protein analysis, manuscript preparation, and HPLC method development.
Today, four free tutorial sessions are offered to HPLC conferees. Today’s talks, from Dave Bell, Fred Regnier, Jonathan Sweedler, and Paul Haddad, cover hydrophilic-interaction chromatography (HILIC), protein analysis, manuscript preparation, and HPLC method development.
In the first tutorial of the day, at 9:20 am, David Bell of MilliporeSigma will help chromatographers understand the theory behind HILIC and how that plays out in practice.
At 11:15 am, Fred Regnier of Purdue University will discuss proteoforms as the new challenge in protein separations.
This afternoon, at 1:30 pm, Jonathan Sweedler of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign-and the editor in chief of the journal Analytical Chemistry-will share tips on how to prepare a manuscript and get it published.
At 4:40 pm, Paul Haddad of the University of Tasmania will provide advice on method development for HPLC.
All tutorials will be held in the Yerba Buena Ballroom, salons 5/6, on the B2 level.
Investigating 3D-Printable Stationary Phases in Liquid Chromatography
May 7th 20253D printing technology has potential in chromatography, but a major challenge is developing materials with both high porosity and robust mechanical properties. Recently, scientists compared the separation performances of eight different 3D printable stationary phases.
Detecting Hyper-Fast Chromatographic Peaks Using Ion Mobility Spectrometry
May 6th 2025Ion mobility spectrometers can detect trace compounds quickly, though they can face various issues with detecting certain peaks. University of Hannover scientists created a new system for resolving hyper-fast gas chromatography (GC) peaks.
University of Oklahoma and UC Davis Researchers Probe Lipidomic Profiles with RP-LC–HRMS/MS
May 6th 2025A joint study between the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) and the UC Davis West Coast Metabolomics Center (Davis, California) identified differentially regulated lipids in type 2 diabetes (T2D) and obesity through the application of reversed-phase liquid chromatography-accurate mass tandem mass spectrometry (RP-LC-accurate MS/MS).
