Schoenmakers retired in 2022 from his post as a professor of chemistry at the University of Amsterdam, where he was also the director of the van ‘t Hoff Institute of Molecular Science (HIMS) and a founder and the education director of a public-private-partnership organization on analytical chemistry called “Comprehensive Analytical Science and Technology (COAST).”
