Event Overview:
Due to their ability to treat a wide variety of diseases, there is increased demand for biopharmaceuticals. While monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) are one of the most common biotherapeutic classes produced today, the development of other unique and challenging molecules is rapidly rising. These new therapeutic modalities present new challenges in the downstream process of these molecules. With the increased trend toward development of a 2-step chromatography process and higher protein doses, improved performance during the chromatography steps is required. Hence, process development scientists are looking for new tools that will clear even more impurities in a single step while maintaining high recoveries and process flexibility.

In this webcast, we will discuss the attributes of Thermo Scientific POROS Ion Exchange and Hydrophobic Interaction chromatography resins, addressing purification challenges of today’s biomolecules.

  • POROS IEX and HIC resins offer unique selectivity and can be used for capture or polish of biomolecules to remove product and process-related impurities

  • The introduction of next generation IEX resins like POROS XS (strong CEX) and XQ (strong AEX) offering high capacity, high resolution, and salt tolerance at faster flow rates has significantly improved process flexibility and allows for easy adaption to integrated processing

  • POROS HIC resins help to support process intensification and increase process flexibility, thereby enabling easier implementation of HIC in your downstream process

  • A variety of case studies showing the performance of POROS IEX and HIC resins

Key Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how a rigid bead with large through pores results in high-performance chromatography resins, leading to more efficient purification

  • Discover how in the next-generation POROS IEX resins, high capacity, salt tolerance, and resolution are combined

  • Find out how POROS HIC resins can overcome your current challenges in the downstream process of complex molecules such as antibody drug conjugates and enzymes
