      The 2025 Lifetime Achievement and Emerging Leader in Chromatography Awards

The LCGC Awards honor the work of talented separation scientists at different stages in their career (See Table I, accessible through the QR code at the end of the article). The award winners will be honored during an oral symposium at the Pittcon 2025 conference held March 1-5, in Boston, Massachusetts.

      The Role of HPLC Columns in Shaping a Greener Analytical Future

      Caitlin N. Cain is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan. She is supported by the National Institutes of Health – National Research Service Award for Individual Postdoctoral Fellows. Her research specializes in the development of chemometric techniques to improve chromatographic non-targeted analyses. Previously, she earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Washington in 2024 and B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Forensic Science from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019. Her research efforts have been recognized by numerous accolades, including the inaugural LCGC Rising Stars of Separation Science Award. She proudly serves as an executive committee member for the ACS SCSC (Subdivision on Chromatography and Separations Chemistry).
