analytica China, which is being held at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre from 15–17 September 2010, has announced some of the highlights in its programme of events.
One topic that will be the focus of attention at the analytica spin-off event will be quality control in the food industry. The event will feature two workshops on the topic of food analysis: Dr Ludwig Huber (Labcompliance Ltd, Germany) will inform participants about FDA/EU Compliance for Quality Control Laboratories, and Dr Georg Herbertz (Haus der Milch) will talk about Construction and Operation of a Laboratory for Milk and Dairy Product Analysis.
The event will also reflect the recent development that the region has seen in the life-sciences sector and will include a presentation by Dr Marianna Lucio (GSF Helmholtz Zentrum München) titled Metabolomic Study on Possible Biomarkers of Crohn's Disease.
There will also be two tutorials at this year's fair: Professor Karl Siegfied Boos (LMU Medical University Munich, Germany) and Dr Rosa Morello (Medical Centre of the University of Munich) will inform visitors about Sample Preparation for LC–MS–MS Analysis of Small Molecules in Biofluids, and Adjunct Professor Philippe Schmitt-Kopplin (Helmholtz Zentrum München) will give a presentation titled Metabolomic Approach for Biotechnology and Life Science.
